The seven-piece Armor of God Bible lesson magnet set laid out for a Sunday school classroom

Built For Volunteers

Hand out the pieces. Read the guide. That's the lesson.

Every child has a job

Seven pieces means seven kids come up in turn. Handing out the pieces before you begin is the whole classroom-management plan — the room stays with you because everyone is waiting for their moment.

A volunteer can teach it cold

The guide gives you the read-aloud line, the one question, and the one small action for each piece. Pick it up ten minutes before class and you are ready to teach Ephesians 6 well.

Reusable every quarter

Clear the pieces and teach the series again next year. The magnets are pressed to survive church tables, tote bins, and small hands — nothing gets recycled at the end of the hour.

The Teacher Guide

Every line you say, in order.

Open with

"Soldiers do not put armor on after the fight starts. They put it on in the morning, before they need it. God gave us armor too — let's put it on piece by piece."

  1. Piece 1 · Ephesians 6:14

    Belt of Truth

Say: The belt goes on first because it holds everything else together. Truth is what holds your day together.

Ask: What is something true about you that God says, even when you don't feel it?

Do: Buckle an imaginary belt around your waist together.

  2. Piece 2 · Ephesians 6:14

    Breastplate of Righteousness

Say: The breastplate covers your heart. Doing what is right guards your heart from things that hurt it.

Ask: What is one right thing that is hard to do at school?

Do: Put both hands flat over your heart.

  3. Piece 3 · Ephesians 6:15

    Shoes of Peace

Say: Shoes let you go places. God's peace goes with you wherever your feet take you.

Ask: Who needs peace from you tomorrow?

Do: Stomp your feet twice — peace is going with you.

  4. Piece 4 · Ephesians 6:16

    Shield of Faith

Say: A shield stops what is thrown at you. Faith stops the lies before they land.

Ask: What is a lie you have believed about yourself?

Do: Hold your arm up like a shield and block it.

  5. Piece 5 · Ephesians 6:17

    Helmet of Salvation

Say: A helmet protects your thoughts. Knowing you belong to God protects the way you think about yourself.

Ask: What do you think about right before you fall asleep?

Do: Place both hands on top of your head.

  6. Piece 6 · Ephesians 6:17

    Sword of the Spirit

Say: Every other piece protects. This one is the only one you fight with — and it is God's Word.

Ask: What is one verse you already know by heart?

Do: Say that verse out loud together, twice.

  7. Piece 7 · Ephesians 6:10-18

    The Full Armor of God

Say: Now the whole set is on the fridge. This is what God gives you every single morning.

Ask: Which piece do you need most tomorrow?

Do: Let the child move their chosen piece to the top of the fridge.

Close in prayer

God, thank You that You do not send us out unprotected. Help us put on every piece tomorrow morning before we need it. Amen.

Questions From Kids Ministry Leaders

Armor of God in the classroom, answered.

How do I teach the Armor of God in Sunday school with magnets?

Hand each child one piece before class starts. Read the scripted line for the Belt of Truth, call that child up to place it on the magnetic whiteboard or classroom fridge, ask the one question, then move to the next piece. Seven pieces takes 12-15 minutes with discussion.

Can we stretch Armor of God across a multi-week series?

Yes — it is the most requested set for a seven-week series. Teach one piece per week and leave the assembled pieces up between Sundays so the class sees the armor grow. Week seven ends with the Ephesians 6:10-18 center verse magnet.

What does a Sunday school class need to use the set?

Any magnetic surface: a whiteboard, a classroom fridge, or a metal door. No board is included and none is required. There is no screen, no wifi, no printing, and no prep the night before.

How much does the Armor of God set cost for a church?

A single seven-magnet set is $35. Bulk pricing starts at ten sets and is quoted by headcount — send us your class size and lesson date and we respond within 3 business days.

How far ahead should our church order for VBS?

Order at least three weeks out. We respond to every inquiry within 3 business days, and once your order is confirmed please allow 7-10 business days for production and shipping from our Yakima, WA studio.

Is the set available in Spanish or Hebrew for our congregation?

Yes — English, Español, and עברית (Hebrew) editions are available. Choose your edition on the order form, and mixed-language orders are welcome for bilingual classrooms.

What ages does the Armor of God set work for in a mixed classroom?

Ages 4 to 11. Preschoolers place a piece and repeat one word. Elementary kids answer the discussion question and can retell the whole armor back to the class by the end of the series.
