Say: The belt goes on first because it holds everything else together. Truth is what holds your day together.
Ask: What is something true about you that God says, even when you don't feel it?
Do: Buckle an imaginary belt around your waist together.

Breastplate of Righteousness
Say: The breastplate covers your heart. Doing what is right guards your heart from things that hurt it.
Ask: What is one right thing that is hard to do at school?
Do: Put both hands flat over your heart.

Say: Shoes let you go places. God's peace goes with you wherever your feet take you.
Ask: Who needs peace from you tomorrow?

Say: A shield stops what is thrown at you. Faith stops the lies before they land.

How do I teach the Armor of God in Sunday school with magnets?
Hand each child one piece before class starts. Read the scripted line for the Belt of Truth, call that child up to place it on the magnetic whiteboard or classroom fridge, ask the one question, then move to the next piece. Seven pieces takes 12-15 minutes with discussion.
Can we stretch Armor of God across a multi-week series?
Yes — it is the most requested set for a seven-week series. Teach one piece per week and leave the assembled pieces up between Sundays so the class sees the armor grow. Week seven ends with the Ephesians 6:10-18 center verse magnet.
What does a Sunday school class need to use the set?
Any magnetic surface: a whiteboard, a classroom fridge, or a metal door. No board is included and none is required. There is no screen, no wifi, no printing, and no prep the night before.

What ages does the Armor of God set work for in a mixed classroom?
Ages 4 to 11. Preschoolers place a piece and repeat one word. Elementary kids answer the discussion question and can retell the whole armor back to the class by the end of the series.
